How to Train Your Dragon 2 Review
It’s time for the sequel. How to Train Your Dragon 2 picks up after the events of the first film, shorts and tv series. We’ve been rewatching some modern classics recently. How To Train Your Dragon may just be the film for you if you enjoy stories of legend, family and fantastical creatures.
How to Train Your Dragon has become an animated legend embedded in pop culture. So much so that in 2025 you will be able to travel via ‘portal’ to the Isle of Berk itself the location of the movie in the new Epic Universe at Universal Orlando.

My How to Train Your Dragon 2 Review
This is a sequel film following on from the TV series and set 5 years after the events of the first film.
The residents of Berk now live side by side with their dragons however this peace does not stop Hiccup from taking off to rescue more dragons. This brings him face to face with capturers building a dragon army for the evil Drago. His path puts not only his own people and Berk at risk but also a world of dragons once safe and hidden from man. New bonds are forged and loved ones are lost in this next addition of the How to Train Your Dragon Saga.
This film is way more magical, as we meet a wide range of dragons in fantastical and beautiful locations, but also way more stressful.
Unfortunately, I found it full of irritating moments and annoying decisions from characters which led to death of both people and (a lot of) dragons.
All the How to Train Your Dragon films are family friendly and include jokes suitable for children and adults. However I do find that the 2nd film is full scream at the screen moments. There is also a fair amount of sadness so you may find yourself shedding a few tears!
This film is worth watching if you are a fan of the saga and so that you can watch the 3rd film which is worth a watch, if only for the baby dragon moments.
A handful of Inspiration
Normally I would create a bound, or character look, to go alongside my reviews and film posts inspired by the movie.
However due to the bad weather recently I created a set of manicures inspired by the different films. To see more be sure to check out my other blog!
For this nail art I was inspired by the world of Valka and all her dragons hidden in the lush undergrowth.
