How to Train Your Dragon 3 Review
It’s time for the final film in the series. How to Train Your Dragon 3 rounds up the events of the previous films, shorts and tv series. (However there is a further short instalment)
We’ve been rewatching some modern classics recently. How To Train Your Dragon series may just be the films for you if you enjoy stories of legend, family and fantastical creatures.
How to Train Your Dragon has become an animated legend embedded in pop culture. So much so that in 2025 you will be able to travel via ‘portal’ to the Isle of Berk itself the location of the movie in the new Epic Universe at Universal Orlando.

My How to Train Your Dragon 3 Review
Set a year after the events of the second film. This film potentially features the end of dragon-human relations as a Night Fury hunter and a Light Fury battle to get to Toothless first.
Hiccup and friends are continuing their efforts to rescue dragons from dragon hunters angering many on the way. So they make a plan to find a magical, previously unknown, “Hidden World”. All the while Toothless finds himself distracted by sightings of a beautiful Light Fury.
All the How to Train Your Dragon films are family friendly and include jokes suitable for children and adults. However I do find the 2nd and 3rd films are full of irritating choices from characters where you do slightly want to scream at the screen, but the 3rd less so than the 2nd. There is also a fair amount of sadness so you may find yourself shedding a few tears!
This feels like an end movie rounding out the trilogy as we explore a world where humans just can’t live in peace with Dragons…yet.
Handful of Inspiration
Normally I would create a bound, or character look, to go alongside my reviews and film posts inspired by the movie. However due to the bad weather recently I created a set of manicures inspired by the different films. To see more be sure to check out my other blog!
For this movie I was inspired by the meeting of the Toothless with his Lightfury and the glowing environment of the Hidden World.
