    September 2022 Life Update

    Hello!

I’m back! I hope everyone had a wonderful summer and wasn’t too badly affected by the unusual heat!

I took some time off in June to focus on a sick family member who sadly passed away, we then managed to finally catch Covid which took me weeks to get better from. But we still managed to make our long-planned trip to Grand Cayman-more details to follow before I had to spend the rest of August recovering (and turning 30). My mental health has taken something of a setback this summer but I’m working on turning it around.

To that effect, I’m back posting on Social Media again with a new fortnightly content series focusing on my main love-movies! Every other week I host a themed movie night and share it across my social media pages dragging my mum and pups into the fun (and stress!) of getting the perfect shots!

As today (8th of September) is Disney Plus Day today is the perfect day to share everything that I found to make the perfect movie night to watch Thor Love and Thunder!

    Review

    Release date 8th July 2022

Thor: Love and Thunder is available now (8th September 22) to watch on Disney Plus

    My star rating

    4.5/5

This has been my favourite Thor film to date, and one of my favourite Marvel films. I prefer the funnier Marvel films over the serious, and the magic over the military.

    Movie Night Ratings

    Magic rating  5/5

Motion Sickness Rating 1/5 Some flying scenes

Grossness rating 2/5 A few gross moments

    Essential Info

We join Thor’s ex-girlfriend Jane Foster in a difficult situation when an unusual (but not unexpected) solution calls to her. However, what she wasn’t expecting was a visit from Gorr the God Slayer (yes really) who’s been ticking Gods off his list. Expect plenty of funny moments, and a few sad, as Thor meets The Mighty Thor and the team gets back together to defeat Gorr and save themselves. This film features plenty of Taika Waititis humour which I feel does appeal more to New Zealand and UK audiences then USA.

    Filming Locations

This Thor was mostly filmed on sets in Australia! Imagine how hot they must have been in their Norwegian fisherman’s jumpers!

    Movie Night Snacks and Drinks

Thor wouldn’t be Thor without his beer so what better what to toast his honour then a foamy drink of your own.

For our movie night I created cream soda floats with cream soda, vanilla ice cream for the froth and marshmellow syrup for the colour served in Marvel glasses.

To eat, I paired this with Thor’s hammer treats made of the Australian sweets pineapple lumps and liquorice!

I also spent ages trawling the internet and have collected a smorgasbord of Thor Movie Night snack ideas over on Pinterest to get those creative juices following and have you soon shouting-Another!

Looking the part for movie night

Of course its not just snacks that make a movie night. Here are some snaps of the nail art, makeup and other content we created to celebrate the movie!

I love to travel and pick up a tshirt from every magic location I visit! Suffering from a chronic illness travel isn't always too accessible but when I travel I always look for travel with extra magic!
