Places to visit in Lincolnshire
Our trip to the nature reserve near Skegness, Lincolnshire was so photographic I had to share some more shots in this Gibraltar Point Photo Gallery! We visited on a chilly but sunny day in January 2022.
Owned and supported by the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve is an area of beach and saltmarsh just bordering on to The Wash on the East coast of Britain.
Here you can spot an abundance of wildlife from birds to seals! Be sure to check out my article on the nature reserve here if you want to learn more.

A walk with a view
We walked mainly on the beach on this trip, complete with dogs on leads and enjoyed a wide expanse of sand. There was a wide range of wildlife; including plenty of marine wildlife evidence in the form of all the different shells you can spot as the tide makes its marks on the sand. There were also banks of dried pungent seaweed-which the four legged among us felt smelt delightful! As it was a winter day in January we were also treated to a beautiful candy floss sky. In the distance the wind turbines of Skegness can be spotted!
Gibraltar Point is such a scenic spot perfect for some photography.
Seals
Spotting seals on the sand banks of the sea is a key draw to this wildlife reserve! When we visited the tide was out at is furthest leaving fewer sand banks and a wide open beach area. But we were still lucky enough to spot some seals, and with a long lens, capture some images!
Visiting slightly earlier such as in November or December would of given us even more of a chance to see seals. Maybe even some babies!
If you visit the reserve be sure to take shoes suitable for walks on the beach. As well as a great camera or binoculars to check out the wildlife! Don’t forget warm clothing if it’s a chilly day like we had in these Gibraltar Point photo s. To find out more information on how to get there and what to take be sure to check out my blog post detailing it here.
