Best Family Friendly Halloween Films
It’s time for movie night
Family friendly Halloween films don’t have to be scary slashers to help you get in the spooky spirit! Finding a fun movie which everyone can watch is just as fun.
Halloween is now commonly celebrated by all ages. It includes a wealth of history from pagan beginnings to modern day parties.
Watching a spooky movie with your family is a great way to celebrate Halloween. Check out this post here for other ways to get in the Halloween Mood.

Spooky Cartoons
Many of these involve the spooky genius of Tim Burton either as creator, director or potential inspiration. Tim Burton films are often a great shout for a spooky watch. They can be a little scarier than other animations but have layers so some goes unnoticed by the very young.

- Corpse Bride
- Coraline
- Frankenweenie
- Paranorman
- 9-I find this one particularly chilling!
Monsters
- Monster House
- The Little Vampire (the 2000 version is my preferred choice but there is also a 2018 cartoon)
- Monster vs Aliens
- Wallace and Gromit-The Curse of the Wererabbit

- Hotel Transylvania 1, 2, 3 and 4 (2022)

Witches and Ghouls
- Hocus Pocus-a firm favourite and now Hocus Pocus 2

- Ghostbusters sequels Afterlife (2021) and Frozen Empire (2024)
