Another Travel Tshirt

Hi, I’m Alex and welcome to my blog!

I’ve just moved to a “fixer upper”, in Lincolnshire, after selling our “bricks and mortar” business in Cornwall. Whilst in Cornwall I worked 7 days a week. This really fuelled my passion to do, see and live more, rather than just working! In 2018 I caught a virus which badly affected me as I was very over worked at the time.

In my life I have been lucky to travel to lots of different destinations including Costa Rica, New Zealand and Jordan. I’m always planning my next trip!

Chronic Illness

I also suffer with a chronic illness which began back in 2003 (Learn more about my chronic illness here.) Whilst it has remained mostly undiagnosed I’ve had various body parts removed over the years including my tonsils and gall bladder to reduce symptoms. So I still have to be very aware of my limitations when travelling. I can experience pain from foods which can be a (figurative and literal!) pain as food is a passion of mine. Since 2018 I also suffer from Chronic Fatigue and other related symptoms such as brain fog.

Related to this I also suffer from depression and anxiety, which I am working though constantly. My desire to be productive even when I can’t is a big contributor. In 2023 I’m trying to teach myself that rest is productive! My mental health also plays a part in where I am able to travel and feel comfortable.

Travel Magic

I often travel to Disney destinations but not exclusively. When I don’t I still like to travel to somewhere with a little bit of magic (that extra something or “wow” factor). Whether it is home in the UK or further afield. As a chronic illness warrior I often feel that travel is inaccessible and uninspiring-whether its long treks or catered cruises-options are often inaccessible to people like me.

Here I hope to show that it is perfectly possible to live a full and exciting life with chronic illness and to travel and explore even with motion sickness. (Although of course you don’t have to be ill to want a bit more magic in your life!)

As I mentioned I love food. I’m a vegetarian which can be a struggle in some countries. Expect to see some food posts popping up now and again!

Everyday Magic

We now own a “fixer upper” with land as well. We hope to renovate it in as eco friendly way as possible, doing a lot of the work ourselves to create a house and life with more space to explore and get creative. I look for ways to add more magic or fun into travel but also at home and in general life too. Whether that is through homeware, decor or watching the best movies. I have lots of DIY planned as we renovate our home, making it more eco friendly and magic in its own way.

Why Another Travel Tshirt?

I also like to pick up a tshirt to keep that magic alive everyday! Whenever I go traveling whether it’s to a Disney park or a new country I always grab a tshirt for me and a tshirt for my husband-he would always say “another Disney tshirt?”. Now the name has stuck!

But you can never have too many reminders of how amazing life and the world is! Sometimes you really need them and I hope this blog brings them to you!
